It’s a bird. It’s an airplane. Actually, it’s none of those.  Some people know Craftycle as a company that makes props for parties, like if you want a huge cardboard cutout of JJ from cocomelon, you call Craftycle. Some people think Craftycle just organises events to teach kids how to make origami and paper airplanes. Both groups of people are correct and wrong at the same time.

Let me tell you the story of how Craftycle started… 

Some time ago, Christine Joan Anijah-Obi wanted to host a birthday party for her daughter, and with a theme in mind (Pastel mint and pink unicorn theme), she collaborated with an event planner. However, things didn’t go exactly as planned as they spent days searching for decorations to match the theme but found none. The only alternative was buying craft decorations from abroad which would have cost at least $600 plus $200 for shipping, and an estimated delivery of 2 to 3 weeks which was too close to the event’s date. The risk and cost were just too much to shake off. 

And just like that, an idea bulb lit up in her brain. Ding! “I can do this myself.”  That was the beginning of Craftycle but the company didn’t quite start until later. Christine always loved making things, not in a grand way at that time but if she couldn’t find exactly what she was looking for, she tried to make it. For example, if she needed a storage box to fit into a particular cupboard size but couldn’t find the exact size at the supermarket or local store, she would make an attempt. She succeeded every time! That was all the inspiration she needed. She also enjoyed the process of bringing her ideas to reality. 

Well, she made the crafts for her daughter’s birthday party and they exceeded everyone’s expectations. The event planner, family, friends, and guests loved it. After that party, She became the go-to craft supplier for parties hosted by her friends; placemats here, a cake topper there, a lovely bouquet made out of paper over there. She did it all! During this time, she realised that they were others like her who couldn’t bring their ideas to reality because there weren’t a lot of options in the local market. Luckily, she had her creativity, design experience, and DIY spirit, and that was the beginning of something great — Craftycle. 

Today, Craftycle is a company of creatives headed by Christine Joan Anijah-Obi and George Anijah-Obi and they’ve gone beyond their living room. When you walk into Craftycle for the very first time, you’d be surprised by what you see; rows of tables with people creating pretty things, items ready to be shipped to restaurants, parties, photographers, homes, event planners, and bakers. You would also see the most amazing things created from the things we see every day; a placemat made out of nothing but newspapers, a picture of a presidential candidate (guess which one) made out of nails and thread alone.

Craftycle makes unique and bespoke craft decorations for any space. Any decorations. Any space. 

Whatever your mind can think up, we can create it. If you have been to a children’s party where the venue is fully decorated from backdrop decorations to table settings with adorable and matching theme decorations like a centerpiece, party hat, water bottle sticker, treat boxes, …, you name it, with the celebrant name and everything looked unique… we might have been responsible for the view! Well, partly responsible. We work with our clients who are event planners, DIY moms, and bakers.  Think of them as the decorator or stylist because they come with an idea in mind, very often a unique request, and explain to us what they want to achieve; the colour, theme, and every other detail. We listen to what you want and fulfil their decoration goal. 

A Lot of our orders are custom-made, but we also have ready-to-go items and pre-design templates to tackle last-minute orders as we serve in a fast-paced industry. 

Our goal is to create the most diverse and unique collections of decorations and crafts in Nigeria and the world. Right now, we offer crafts made with papers, cards, and boards but we are looking to expand to other materials like wood, and acrylic to accommodate more demands and new trends.
